Big Daddy Guns – About Us

Co-founded in 2013 by Tony and Sherrie McKnight, Big Daddy Guns started as a passion project for the couple who identified that Americans’ civil liberties were under attack in this country. At the time, both Tony and Sherrie were not only new to the firearms industry, but to firearms in general. Despite their lack of industry knowledge at the time, they knew something desperately needed to be done to protect the Second Amendment.

With an entrepreneurial spirit and decades of experience in owning their personal small businesses, Tony and Sherrie took a leap of faith and started Big Daddy Guns out of their garage. After two years of great success, they expanded their business to its first storefront in Gainesville, FL.

Today, Big Daddy Guns operates in Gainesville, FL with future plans to expand into the entire southeastern United States. Our organization strives to disrupt and dominate the firearms industry by establishing over 800 stores across the United States. We aspire to integrate into every community we join by educating, motivating, and activating Americans to join the Second Amendment movement.

We aim to normalize and destigmatize firearms by placing our stores in high-traffic, high-visibility areas. Our mission relies on mainstream locations where the people are, rather than the outskirts of town in dark, old-fashioned, and unwelcoming stores. For too long, the industry has suffered due to lack of service and attention if buyers didn’t speak the correct “gun lingo.”
